 At the beginning of May, WLI Central moved from Colorado Springs, Colo., to Pasadena, Calif., and now operates under the umbrella of its new parent organization Harvest International Ministry. Founded in 1998 by Dr. C. Peter Wagner, Wagner Leadership Institute is an international apostolic training center established to equip the saints for Kingdom ministry (Eph. 4:11-12).

Dear HIM Pastors and Friends,
No, that’s not me rebuking anyone. It’s Mark Twain’s observation that experiencing life in another man’s shoes indelibly changes our lives and values forever.
Our personal realities are the result of life in our corner of the world. We may think we understand it all as we sit in our comfortable chairs and hypothesize about the “bigger picture.” We may even empathize through well written stories. Yet it is all theory until we get out of our chairs!
Isn’t it interesting that Jesus’ first command to his new disciples was “Go and make disciples of all men?” The mandate contained no option NOT to go! That aspect of Christianity is something most people want someone else to do. They are usually willing to pay $50 to help! (Which, this is indeed a very good thing).
However, maybe we are missing out. Not all believers are called to be full time ministers in nations abroad- though I am so thankful for those who are. But every person, especially young Christians, can be forever changed, enlarged and tempered by short term missions or giving time to our brothers and sisters abroad.
This may seem redundant to so many of us reading this to who cross cultural ministry is a way of life. Yet we influence so many others who need to hear about it and personally respond to the call!
One of the great opportunities of HIM is to travel with our teams to other nations, or visit other HIM churches and enjo cultural and stylistic differences. God may call some to make more significant investment of time.
One young man, Christian, age 20, recently left many creature comforts to go help Claudia Wintoch of Healing 2 the Nations and her ministry in remote Mali, West Africa.
Claudia asked him to write about his first impressions of the year he’s giving:
“Everything's different, the challenges are great, and God is good... So far my time here has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs emotionally…
On one hand, there's the warmth I received from the (orphanage) children as well as team members. From the first moment, I felt a part of the family which really made it easier with regards to the preceding pain of leaving Austria as well as the frightening prospect of a long year in this world that is still very foreign to me.”
“My biggest battles in this time are the new hard-to-digest West African climate, the West African food that's as hard-to-digest, the adventurous car rides and the challenge of getting into the children's rhythm of life… But during this hard time of transition, I realize even more how good and helpful it is to cling to God…with the whole world around me not being the way it used to be, and finding myself a long way outside of my comfort zone "walking on water", my God is still the same! He is faithful and His help is never late. Among other things, it is exactly these kinds of deep realizations of the faithfulness of God that makes this time so precious.”
Thank you for supporting HIM as we reach the orphans, the broken hearted, the poor, the rich, and those in desperate need of salvation whom people like Christian go to help. We are not only able to change the lives of those in need, but those who help!

The first thing to do is print the application from the website, fill it out and e-mail it, fax it, or mail it back to the HIM office. If you send in an application, we ask that you send a payment of either the $350.00 non-refundable deposit or the entire payment. If you e-mail the application, please send a check or call the HIM office to make a deposit by credit card. You are not officially on the trip until a deposit is made. The trips do fill up and usually are limited due to vehicles and housing arrangements. This trip has a limit of 40 people and will fill up fast.
After You Sign Up:
The key is to get your ticket reservation and purchased. The airfare can vary for your city and how soon you ticket. Often we can hold your ticket without losing the deposit, so it is best to get signed up and ticketed as soon as possible. Please be aware that paying by credit card usually involves a 3% fee to cover the cost. Following the completion of registration, you will receive e-mails to prepare you and give you details of what to bring and how to be ready.

Wagner Leadership Institute Joins HIM Family
At the beginning of May, WLI Central moved from Colorado Springs, Colo., to Pasadena, Calif., and now operates under the umbrella of its new parent organization Harvest International Ministry. Founded in 1998 by Dr. C. Peter Wagner, Wagner Leadership Institute is an international apostolic training center established to equip the saints for Kingdom ministry (Eph. 4:11-12).
It is a non-traditional, new-wineskin approach to learning which includes strategic activation and impartation. WLI offers three diploma tracks: Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Practical Ministry. The six core topic areas for WLI include: Apostolic, Prophetic, Deliverance, Intercession, Spiritual Warfare and Healing, Signs and Wonders.
Dr. Ché Ahn Appointed WLI International Chancellor by Dr. C. Peter Wagner
As part of the transition of Wagner Leadership Institute from Colorado to California, Dr. C. Peter Wagner named Dr. Ché Ahn as his successor and installed him as International Chancellor during the inaugural WLI Central graduation ceremonies on June 5. Dr. Ahn will now oversee all aspects of WLI while Dr. Wagner will now serve as Chancellor Emeritus of the only ministry to carry his name.
Dr. Mark Tubbs, HIM Executive Director, is the new International Vice-Chancellor with Andy Geerken and Brooke Adams serving in support roles as WLI Administrator and WLI Registrar, respectively. Since the transition, new WLI Regional extensions have already been launched in Boston, Chicago, Sparta, Mo., and Vancouver. Chicago and Vancouver have established both English and Korean-American training centers.

Upcoming WLI Class with Dr. James Goll

Popular author and teacher Dr. James Goll, a member of the HIM Apostolic Team, is offering a three-day WLI course Exploring the Nature and Gift of Dreams, Sept. 16-18, at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena. The class will take place from 7 to 10 pm on both Thursday and Friday evenings and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday.
